A conference about “Economic opportunities and political significance on the entrance of ten new members to the European Union” took place on May 5th at the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange. The event was organized by the Buenos Stock Exchange in the frame of its 150º anniversary, together with the Polish Heroes Remembrance Center and the Polish Embassy to Argentina.
With the presence of more than two hundred people, the President of the Stock Exchange, Julio Werthein, opened the conference. The main subjects of the conference were about the strategic role that these ten new members will have as a potential commercial market for Argentine products.
The guest speakers were The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland Slawomir Ratajski; the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic Vladimir Gracz; The Ambassador/ Head of the European Commission Delegation Angelos Pagkratis; The Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of Lithuania Valteris Baliukonis and the Commercial Attaché of the Czech Republic Miroslav Suja.
The Ambassador of Poland emphasized the importance of the exports from Argentina to Poland.
The Conference was closed with the dissertation of the Ambassador of the European Commission Delegation Angelos Pagkratis, who highlighted that investments in Argentina will depend exclusively on the conditions and on the juridical safety that will prevail in Argentina.
At the conference were present many members of the Diplomatic Corps, among them: Ambassador of Albania Edmond Trako, Ambassador of Belgium Ronald De Langhe; Ambassador of Croatia Rikard Rossetti; Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic Eduardo Kabat; Honorary Consul of Estonia Peet Pullisar; Honorary Consul of Lithuania Juan Martín Daujotas; Honorary Consul of Malta Basilio Tzolis; Commercial Attaché to the Austrian Embassy Dr. Erich Dix; First Secretary of the European Commission Delegation Embassy, Matthias Jorgensen; Commercial Attaché of the Rumanian Embassy Stefan Stefanescu; Commercial Attaché of Switzerland Embassy Hans-Ruedi Bortis; Commercial Attaché of Turkish Embassy Serhan Kara; national authorities and local investors.
The Polish Heroes Remembrance Center is formed by men and women of good will from all beliefs identified with the same goals: to combat all kind of discrimination and intolerance, weather political, religious or racial and to promote a better understanding among men and nations to the construction of a better world
